Barlow Herget

SGR exclusive with Rick Carlisle

Former NC Secretary of Commerce Rick Carlisle tells Barlow Herget that North Carolina can become a center for new “green” technology companies in much the same way it did for bio-tech companies. Carlisle - who also works as a managing partner in Dogwood Equity - has helped state companies grow jobs and revenues, and calls on Governor Perdue to establish an energy adviser in her office.

GR exclusive with Rep. Deborah Ross

House Majority Whip Deborah Ross (D-Wake) tells Barlow Herget that last week's news about poor revenues means that state budget writers are now looking at a total budget of about $17.5 billion, unless they raise revenues to make up for a projected $4.5 billion shortfall for the 2009-2010 budget.
